Text Box: The trail begins as a wide gravel path, starting at the information sign, and ascends steeply. Halfway up, the trail forks. Take the path to the right and climb to the top. Follow sign to the rocks. When returning, follow sign to Appalachian Trail and turn left. Descend a series of switchbacks to the historic Howardsville Turnpike and watch for the sign back to the parking lot.

Take Interstate 64E to Exit 99 at the top of the mountain. Bear right onto Rt. 250 East and follow signs to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn right (south) and go to the Humpback Rocks Parking Area at milepost 6 on the left. Note: There is a Visitor Center and re-created Mountain Farm on the right just before Humpback Rocks.
